Five-Year Anniversary Kickoff
SPEAKER_03Welcome to the Soka Chronicles.
SPEAKER_02Soca Chronicles with Sharns and Arke Yo. Welcome to episode 61 of Soka Chronicles, the podcast that brings you everything Soka. This is our fifth year anniversary episode, yo. What a milestone. And as always, I'm Arkao, and I'm DCD sitting next to the one and only Sharns.
SPEAKER_01Yo Yo.
SPEAKER_02That is some quality five years of yo yo yo. Low it. This month, uh we're gonna treat it like any normal month, so we're just gonna have a regular dagger episode. But uh there's some discussions we need to have. Notting Hill, Brawlin, something with a new mix. I think Miami and Tobago are coming up. And then we have to talk about some music. Plus, before I forget, we have a whole interview to celebrate our five-year anniversary. So let's go.
Meeting Shelly From Signal Band
SPEAKER_02To kick things off, I do want to start with that interview I just mentioned. I was lucky enough to meet Shelly from the Signal Band, um, a very reputable band from Dominica in the Netherlands. So, for once, the Netherlands was the place to be when it came to Soka. Um, record a little thing, let's listen to that right now. Shelly, thank you so much for taking the time. This is the Soka Chronicles five-year anniversary episode, so it's a magic number for us. Um, and for me, it's um an honor to sit here with you. Uh, big name from Dominica, honestly. Um I've I've recently got into like the Bouillon music because obviously it's it's a bit new when it comes to the frontline of Soka. I feel like it's grown a lot. Um, but every mix I listen to, there's a couple of Signal Band songs in there. Yeah, yeah. So appreciate you taking the time. Yeah, man. Um we always start with just you doing a bit of an introduction and how you got into the music. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Well, I think it would only be right for me to say, you know, congratulations on your fifth year anniversary. Thank you. We got the Soca Chanicles one time. Um, you know, congratulations, five year huge milestone. Um my name is Shelly. You know, I am from the beautiful island of Dominica. Um, you know, we invented and developed Booyah music, and that's what we play as Shelly and Signal Band. Signal Band is my band. I'm a founding member of the band. We started about 16 years ago. Long time ago. Long time ago when we were about 14, like teenagers, really. Just you know, having fun during the summer. We started a band. Um, but you know, prior to the band, I had a background in Calypso where I used to sing, you know, just as a 10-year-old competing um in school competitions. And you won as well. And that's where this thing ignited. Like, yo, I'm I'm I was born to entertain. And um, you know, so I developed that, you know, my parents, you know, bought me guitars and whatever. So, you know, I started to become this rounded musician and just happy to be, you know, a contributor to Buyer music these days and you know, flying the flag of Dominica High and even in the Netherlands where you are today.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Is it your first time in the Netherlands? First time in the Netherlands.
SPEAKER_02Um very different, I guess. Yeah. How are you feeling it so far?
SPEAKER_04It's great to be here. Um, you know, most people might not, well not maybe people know. I'm here on vacation. Yeah, thank you again for your time. You know, I'm here on vacation. I we had a busy summer, we toured from like May after carnival in Dominica until like end of August. And you know, I figured my last performance was last week in New York. And I said that, you know, you're gonna take a family trip and for two weeks and reset because we're getting ready to go again. And um, you know, we chose Netherlands. We chose Netherlands for personal reasons.
SPEAKER_02I was gonna say, because it's not a choice that maybe other people get.
SPEAKER_04For personal reasons, mostly my mother has a really good friend here that you know they they grew up together. Like she always visits my mom, and we feel like, you know, what a good person. Why not change? Yeah, yeah. Let's visit the Netherlands and we're here and we've been having a great time. But you know, they say all work and no play make Jack make Jacques a dull boy. But I feel like all play and no work in a place of opportunity makes Shelley a dumb boy. I like that. You know, it's a place of opportunity, it's an it's a market that, you know, there's interest in buyot, in soccer, in Caribbean music, there are Caribbean people everywhere. So why not you know feed the community and introduce myself to the community? So I'm happy to be in the Neverlands thing, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, no, thank you. Um speaking of, because uh like I mentioned before, Buyon has grown a lot recently. How do you see Buyon's place within the Caribbean but also internationally at the moment?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04I mean, it it's it's Bouyard started in the 1980s, right? You know, so that's about almost 40 years ago. Exactly. It's not new. Yeah, it's not entirely new, but you know, music, the arts, or any anything that you do, you don't get to really choose the timeline in which like the the world gets to hear it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And you know, Buyoard's been writing for some years, you know, foundation from WCK, and at some point in time in like the past five, six years, the rest of the world kind of started turning its head to Buyo, um, mainly due to nasty business. I think it's like. Yeah, I was gonna say everybody was like, What are you guys saying? So that that put the attention, and that's just that's marketing one-on-one. That's you know, you don't get to choose again how the people get interested in something, and that's pretty much how most people get it got interested. Before that, you know, songs like Balance Battle used to be flying in the clubs all around the entire island. Exactly. Yeah, but it was kind of the only Buyo song that we play in a in a soccer party or any Caribbean party. But now we have Buyo records spinning back to back. That's what I'm saying, it's it's growing. Yeah, yeah. We're thankful for that. Um we think that I mean it speaks volumes to Kyrian integration because sometimes Caribbean islands tend to tend to feel like they feel like you know it's a competition of I'm better than, I am bigger than. It's against each other in the same. But then when you start to see the music played in the same parties, you realize that we're more together than separate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. I've always had this discussion with uh Sharns, who couldn't be here today. Um I always think Soka will reach the world eventually. It will become so if you look at Afrobeats, for example, 10 years, 15 years ago, Alfro Beach was based in Nigeria, not really anything bigger than that. But somehow it reached the masses and it became extremely popular right now. Right, right. I have a future in mind where Soca could become something like that as well. Um Shorens is more of the believer that she thinks now it can be local, it can be small, and it's also fine. What do you think? Can I count you on my team or on her team?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, interesting competition. I feel like, you know, as an artist, um, which also makes me a businessman, you know. Exactly. I I want to scale. Yeah, I want to scale. I want to get big. And I feel like we would be doing ourselves a disservice to have those opportunities and saying, no, I want to remain small. I don't think nobody does that. Yeah. If you if you if you remain small, then there is something special about that, you know. Um, like, you know, there are local coffee shops that are nice and cozy and they might never make another branch because you can only go to this place together. It's a certain charm it has, and that's that's what it is. But I think when it comes to like culture, like we should be sharing, like we shouldn't be like trying to keep contained. I think culture is to be shared, and every time we share culture, we start to realize how much more similar we are than different. You start to share cultures and you realize like, oh, you have that too. Yeah. You know, oh you do that too. Yeah, you know, and you might call it something different, but it's the same thing. So I feel like it's important to share. Um we I feel like we'll be doing a disservice to to make Caribbean music be like untouched and all full of. Like we need to. To keep it close to yourself.
SPEAKER_02We need to get to the Grammys, we need to get to everywhere. I agree. I 100% agree. Yeah, okay, I'm gonna count on the mind team now. Summon yourself. Um just to close it off, can we expect anything from you uh and Signal Band in the near future? I know the season is sort of coming to a close right now. Is there anything going to happen in your future or or should we wait until the next season, basically?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean I mean what season exactly?
SPEAKER_02You know? Which season? I love it.
SPEAKER_04Yes, are you talking about like the Rotterdam season, Netherlands kind? Because there's so many seasons right now. I was gonna say, yeah, you can you get this a good argument, yes. There's so many seasons, it means that the conversation is now that this is just a thing, a Uran thing. This is always happening. And the reason now to even blur the boundaries of seasons is because people travel and experience carnival everywhere.
SPEAKER_02Always and everywhere.
SPEAKER_04You know, so like people not staying in their own little neck of the woods and saying, okay, I'm waiting for carnival to come to me. People go into carnival.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, true.
SPEAKER_04So anyway, that makes now the job of us the artists means that we cannot see seasons. We just have to make music. Yeah, yeah. Because when we make something in July, it might fall into Rotterdam. You make something in August, it might fall into Norton Hill. Four or two years later, sometimes that could also happen. You know, it's really not a time concept, and so many carnivals, like when we when I live here, it's Miami Carnival, and then Dominica has a festive season that comes up, and then it's St. Kids Carnival. So it's so many carnivals happening, and um it's right now, it's it's as it has consumed the entire calendar.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04So to answer the question, actually, we're just gonna keep working, you know, and try and blow the boundaries of seasons. You know, it's easier said than done. Sometimes you think in seasons, yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it helps you to organize and the road march, all these events are happening, yeah. So you have to you kind of have to, but either way, you start you're starting to like zoom out sometimes and feel like you know, everybody's listening and they all have their seasons. So, as the artists, we should probably pull away from the ideas of season and just make music.
SPEAKER_02When we talk about international like reach for Soka, then I do enjoy that.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. That is that is where we change the conversation. Like we are thinking season we just feed in the woods. Yeah, exactly. You know, exactly.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, okay, uh, I'm not gonna take too much time for you because I know your time is scarce. Before we go, I do want to ask you to plug yourself. So any uh Instagram handle, any YouTube um username that the people need to know to find your music. Yeah, the camera's there, now's your time. Hey camera.
SPEAKER_04My name is Shelly again. Um, you know, the artist of Signal Band out of Dominico. We are Buyo group. I am a Buyo artist, we create Buyo music, we do soccer as well. Um we have conversations about Buyo versus soccer, whether that's a thing. We can touch on that if you want to. But um you can find us on every streaming platform at Shelly and Signal Band. Um, you know, on Instagram at Shelly underscore Alfred. Signal underscore band is signal band, and the same thing Facebook is Signal Band, Shelly Alfred, we're on TikTok, we're everywhere. Everywhere. As long as you know these three words, Shelly Signal Band, you will be fine. You can find us somewhere. And you will see the face, you will see other faces of my other band members as well. And the music is there, we have bunch of music videos, bunch of music that the world needs to hear. Absolutely. So yeah, check it out.
SPEAKER_02And we're gonna help with that. So we will after this interview, uh, we'll go back to the studio and then we'll make sure that we're gonna play the top three of our uh signal band songs so that at least we can uh in the episode already share some of the music.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_02I appreciate your time. Thank you very much. Uh enjoy your time in the Netherlands. I hope you can enjoy it as a holiday destination as well a bit. Yeah, yeah, I hope we have me there. Good, okay, good, yes. And thank you so much. Alright, back to
Bouyon Growth And Going Global
SPEAKER_02the studio. Shock down. Yes,
Top Three Signal Band Picks
SPEAKER_02we have prepared the top three for you. Uh, we're gonna rush through it a bit, so not spending too much time talking. On number three, we have Bye to the Old Me, of course, by Shady and Signal Band.
SPEAKER_05They love you when you're nice, so they can take advantage of your niceness. They love you when you're nice, so they can call your phone when they in crisis. When love you do, they do disappear. Disappear. When things tight, they does reappear. Magic. Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids. Hope you always want and have nothing to give well. Bally, bally, bally, bally, body, bally, value to the old me.
unknownDon't call me, don't contact me.
SPEAKER_06I don't have no me. No mumps the nice guy. No my pizza, nice guy. No mum is the nice guy. No mump is the nice guy.
SPEAKER_02That was by to the open me. Moving on to our number two, it is Yes Baby, one of my personal favorites. Let's go.
SPEAKER_03Yes, baby. Yes, baby.
SPEAKER_05If you tell me clean me home, yes, baby. If you tell me wash my mo, yes, baby. If you say I cannot go, yes, baby. I will never, never, I'll never tell you no, yes, baby. Everything you say is yes, baby. When I go to work, still I don't want this steady.
unknownWhen I go home, I give up all the money. Yes, baby. You don't need to stress. Say what you want and give me the rest. Yes, baby. Your cooking is the best. But I know you're tired, why don't you take a rest?
SPEAKER_05If you tell me cleanly home, yes, baby. If you tell me what's my mo, yes, baby. If you say I cannot go, yes, baby. I will never, never, I'll never tell you no, yes, baby. Everything you say is yes, baby.
SPEAKER_02Yes, baby, what a tune. But moving swiftly to our number one. What a tune. I'll be there for you. Let's go.
SPEAKER_05I hear people say the ticket price way too high, so they're not going home, but not me. Even if it's me alone. I will take a fishing boat on 95 days to reach dominance. Dominic. People say the costume cost that I'm on the lane. Well, I would like to take alone. But I need a for you. I not go with gun if I come no lost or no profit. I already have a hole in my focus. People die you so fast, and I only have one life, so I better live it. I miss my family. I already tell my thoughts that I only open to see my granny. The road could be empty, it could be just me. Johnny Fall, I will never leave you lonely.
SPEAKER_02That was our top three from Shelley and the Signal Band. Um, there is much more to discuss this episode, so um Sharon, where do you want to start?
Notting Hill Carnival Recap
SPEAKER_01Alright, so the thing that I want to discuss is Notting Hill Carnival, which happened at the end of last month. Obviously R.O. unfortunately couldn't join us, but I was there repping for the both of us, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Thank you, appreciate it.
SPEAKER_01And yeah, it was a very busy season for me. Honestly, at one point I thought I was a goner. I didn't think I was gonna make it. Honestly. It was just like booking after booking after booking. I mean, I went a day and a half without sleeping because I had so many bookings, it was crazy.
SPEAKER_02Wild. That is the life of an international DJO.
SPEAKER_01Oh, but it's not really international DJ because I was at I was home.
SPEAKER_02National DJO.
SPEAKER_01Oh, for goodness sake. Anyway, moving on swiftly! So yeah, it was a busy season, I was absolutely exhausted, but I had a time, and since Notting Hill, I have been doing a lot of resting, and I feel much, much better. So, yeah, people, if anybody listening went to Notting Hill Carnival, let us know how it was for you, let us know in our comments, and um, yeah, great, let us know what bands you were with.
SPEAKER_02In terms of bands or anything like that?
SPEAKER_01Um there were, but I don't have that information to hand, and obviously we have the beauty of being able to pause and check. So I'm gonna pause and I'm gonna check. After that brief pause, where I went to do my research, and RKO should have done his research because he's Mr. Research, so I don't know why you're leaving me to do research. Anyway, moving on swiftly. Carnival Sunday. Um obviously Carnival Sunday we have some Duty Mass bands, and the band that came in at number one was Island Mass, so big up Island Mass. Jab jab band. In at number two we have Hype Mass, and at number three we have a beer. So big up them. A what? Handy wood.
SPEAKER_02What what was number three?
SPEAKER_01A beer.
SPEAKER_02How do you write that?
SPEAKER_01A B I R.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. I thought a beer, like the the drink.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_02It's like okay, so we have two actual bands and a beer, that one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Nope, got it, moving on.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And on Carnival Monday, the band that won, obviously Large Mass Band, was UConn. So pick up UConn. They have now changed their name to Exquisite Carnival. There was a bit of bacanao around why they had to change their name, but uh. We're not, yeah, we're not gonna get into that right now because it's not really my business to chat. But you could do your research and find out on your own what happened there, because it's not gonna come from me, I'll tell you that for free. Anyway, moving on swiftly, in at number two, we have Island Mask, so big up Island Mask first on Sunday, in act number two on the Monday, they are doing their thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_01And then in at number three was Rain Mask. Okay, so big up Rain Mass.
SPEAKER_02For sure.
SPEAKER_01And that was that so that was Notting Hill Carnival, and something that I hold dear to my heart, and also there will be the whole team together for this next thing that I'm about to talk about. Finally,
Brawlin Returns With Independence Theme
SPEAKER_01yes, Brawlin! Hey RKO will finally be back in London for brawlin. Yes, okay, so yeah, I cannot wait. I'm so excited, that's why you can hear the excitement.
SPEAKER_02I feel like I've been gone for so long. I I wonder what new buildings I've been built in the meantime.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I feel like the whole of London is just spinning. I was gonna say the small village of London might have turned into a city now.
SPEAKER_02Let's see.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. You won't even recognise it when you land.
SPEAKER_02Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Oh god, brawling people. The next one is going to be on the 7th of November, and this edition we are going to celebrate independence. Okay, and before anybody says anything, I know independence is on the 30th of November. However, let me explain why I've done it on the 7th of November. First of all, the original date I wanted to do it on was the 21st of November. However, another promoter who I am cool with, they called me up and they said, Look, Shans, I'm not even gonna lie to you. I'm doing an event on that date. You know, just wanted to give you a heads up. Oh he does bigger events than me, so I thought, alright, cool. Big respect to you for the heads up. I'm just gonna change my date because I'm the smaller person here. Do you know what I mean? I'm not gonna go and clash him, and he's bringing artists as well, so there was no point. There was no point me trying to clash, so I said, Alright, cool. Um, the options were the 14th or the 7th. I couldn't get a venue on the 14th. So the only other option was the 7th. But it's still good. It just means we're celebrating independence for the whole of November. And this independence is a very special one for Barbados because we are celebrating 60 years of independence. 60 years of Defense.
SPEAKER_02That has been a while, bro.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And I think it's five years of being a republic, if I am not mistaken. So yeah, it's going to be a good one. And there are loads of events happening in November. I'm not going to mention them now, but I will mention those in the October episode. So next episode, I'll go through those events. You know what I mean? I'm not going to bore you with it this month. But also, you may be saying, well, Shans, why didn't you do it at the end of November? Because there is a Saturday at the end of November. I think it's the 28th. The reason I'm not doing it on the 28th is because I am going to be in Barbados for independence.
SPEAKER_02Be nice.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, boy. So therefore, the only option was the 7th. But I'm happy. Get mine out of the way. And then I can just focus on Barbados. You know what I mean? So, yeah, people, tickets have been flying. And I promise you, I'm not exaggerating. I'm not um embellishing. I'm being genuine when I tell you the tickets are flying. So please, if you do plan on coming, obviously RKO is gonna be there, so you have even more of a reason to attend.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. There we go. The whole team's gonna be there, bro. So grab your tickets. You can get your tickets from www.tridentldn.com. So that is t-r-i-d-e-n-t ldn.com. Grab your tickets from there. I don't even know if the tickets are going to last till the end of this month when this episode airs. I'm not even gonna lie to you. So if they are sold out by that time, I do apologize. You should be following me on Instagram so you'll be keeping up to date with what I'm doing, yo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure. And I'm excited. I'm excited to be outside.
SPEAKER_01Definitely, bro. I'm excited as well. You already know the deal because I think the last you obviously you went to the first ever brawling, which was April 2025. That's over a year and a half.
SPEAKER_02That feels yet so close, yet so far ago.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, exactly. Because by November that would be a year and seven months, if my maps is correct.
SPEAKER_02That's wild.
SPEAKER_01You know what I mean? So there we go, and obviously, I'm confident that this one's gonna sell out, so you will be there for my second ever sold-out event because the one for Independence last year sold out, so yeah, man, you're gonna be a part of history.
SPEAKER_02Yes, please. Oh, I'm excited, can't wait. How many nights are I sleep still? I'm kidding.
SPEAKER_01For goodness sake, and RKO might be playing a set.
SPEAKER_02I mean, it reminds me of last month's episode where I told you how I played four songs and only two went wrong.
SPEAKER_01But anyway, there we go. A 50% success rate is better than.
SPEAKER_02Well, if you put me down at 4 pm, then I might actually consider it.
SPEAKER_01Oh boy.
SPEAKER_02Doors open at 10 pm. I'll be there by 4 pm, no worries.
SPEAKER_01For goodness sake, RKO, man.
SPEAKER_02But speaking of sets, isn't there some like music accompanying this whole thing?
SPEAKER_01Yep. Yes, RKO. I have dropped a brand new bash Montsoka mix to get you ready for brawlin. So the name of it is just Brawlin Part 3.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01It's on my SoundCloud, so www.soundcloud.com forward slash DJ Shans. And that shans with a Z on the end, not an S. So DJ S-H-A-R-N-Z. The mix will be on there. Guys, the mix is fire, if I don't say so myself.
SPEAKER_02No, not love. Fire. Just fire.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So it is bashment soaker and a bit of zest, because obviously we've got like boxy brawling on there and face bead.
SPEAKER_02We've got brawling, calling. Sorry. Apologies.
SPEAKER_01Which we you know classify as zest.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So check it out. People, let me know what you think. We're outside. We're outside. We're outside.
SPEAKER_02I'm excited, man.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, boy.
SPEAKER_02But I think we also need to look ahead because oh I mean brawling is looking ahead, fair enough.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, okay, fair play. Anyway, after that, then we have to move back to the US. For
Miami Plans And Tobago Questions
SPEAKER_02I think the well, the semi-season closing carnival, if you want to call it that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's Miami time.
SPEAKER_01Boy, yeah, boy, Miami carnival, and 50% of the Silver Chronicles team will be in Miami.
SPEAKER_02That is the same amount as last year.
SPEAKER_01And the year before. And a year before, exactly. Yeah. There we are. So, me, myself, and I, I will be in Miami for Miami Carnival. So, people, if you are also going to Miami Carnival, let us know in the comments or reach out to me. Um, let me tell you which events I will be at for sure. But I'll probably end up at some others knowing me. For sure, for sure, for sure. And this isn't in chronological order, by the way, because I didn't I wasn't organized and I didn't write down all the fets. I'm doing this from head and I don't remember the date. So allow me, please. But anyway, Naked Boat Cruise for sure. You have to do that. One is done by DJ Blaze from St. Martin. That cruise, honestly, it is crazy. Crazy. Every year that I go, it's crazy. He had one for the first time in London for Notting Hill. It was vibes upon vibes, vibes upon vibes. So I think that's gonna be an annual thing for him with Notting Hill. But yeah, anyway, back to Miami. Naked boat cruise is a must. So make sure you grab your ticket for that if you are going to Miami Carnival. Also, SSS. That is my favourite juvet in Miami. Favourite, favourite, favourite. You have to go there. If you don't plan to go to Stink and Dutty, you need to be at SSS or find a way to do both. That's what I'm saying. SSS is not to be missed. So you will catch me there. I will also be at Booz and Bacchanal. You guys have heard me raving about this in Barbados. Um, it's obviously in Miami as well. So yeah, Boozembacanal is a boat ride. Have to do that one for sure. You will not be disappointed. What else? I might be doing Juvet. If I do Jouvet, it will be with Red Ants as long as their packages don't sell out. I know the Jouvet is on the Saturday in the big park. Um what other events am I doing? So far that's all I've got locked in. But I will probably end up at Viva La Carnival. Probably. I went there last year. An event called No Borders, which I happened to, you know, DJ at last year, so may end up back there. Obviously, not DJing, but you know, as a patron. I may go to an event called Small Island Jam. Um, basically any of International Stevens events, I'm probably gonna end up there. Also, Sinister does uh my god, what endless jam. That was a vibe last year. I'll probably end up there this year as well. So if you are heading to Miami Carnival, let me know which events you will be heading to, and then also let me know if you're gonna be at any of the ones that I'm at. Let's link up, let's drink up, let's have a time, let's take pictures, and we can post it on the Soka Chronicles page. I mean, how cool would that be? Yeah, that would be cool. So let's do that. Any pictures, videos, whatever, we're putting it on the page, man.
SPEAKER_02Good idea.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and just after Miami Carnival, a couple of weeks after there, we have Tobago Carnival, which is on the 30th of October to the 1st of November. And obviously, there will be events in the run-up to it. I've never been to Tobago Carnival, I've never been to Trinidad. I mean, I don't really know much about Tobago Carnival, I can't lie to you. So if you have any information or if you're going to let us care, share. There we go, because sharing is caring.
SPEAKER_02Sharing.
SPEAKER_01There we go.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure. And then I think we're reaching well, the end of the big season. We still have like small carnivals coming up with uh the new year, and obviously by then we're gonna go back to uh yeah, to new season with Trinidad. But um speaking of which, I think it is time for some music because we've been listening a lot to you know upcoming carnivals and past carnivals. But
Song Of The Month Then Final Plugs
SPEAKER_02yeah, this is a music podcast in the end. So you want to introduce our uh Song of the Month?
SPEAKER_01No, I don't.
SPEAKER_02Then I'm gonna do it this month, Song of the Month is Patrice Roberts with Outside Child on the party nice rhythm. Let's have a listen.
SPEAKER_03This is the song of the month.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Patrice again. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What is this? Oh yeah, look, she outside again, look, she bumping again, look, she wearing nothing again, look, she out in the streets again, this girl, the busting home, the busting home, the busting home, this gap, the busting home, the busting home, the busting home, it's gonna be the busting home, the buttons, the busting home, it's gonna be the busting home, the busting home, the busting home, she's a ball, take it, she's a wake up That was for Freezer Birds with Outside Shout, and that means we have reached the end of our episode, our fifth year anniversary episode.
SPEAKER_02OLES SHORENS you wanna have you wanna add something or do you forget anything?
SPEAKER_01I mean, if you insist on me talking, okay, I mean I can speak some more. Just a quick shameless plug, okay. If you are planning on going to Barbados for independence, you know obviously I'm passionate about Barbados, so I'm just gonna keep talking about Barbados. There is an event which you really really need to go to. The name of it is Amnesia, it is a boat party. I will be there. I'm not DJing, but I am going there as a civilian. We may call it that. Yes.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna be drunk, you mean?
SPEAKER_01Stop chatting my business. I am going as a respectable member of the public. I may consume some alcohol, but we don't need to talk about all that. That's irrelevant, RKO. It's irrelevant.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely irrelevant. Yep.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. So just just just stop, okay?
SPEAKER_02Fair enough, fair enough, fair enough, fair enough.
SPEAKER_01But anyway, moving on swiftly, grab your tickets for amnesia. If you live in Barbados and you're listening to this, you can get physical tickets from several outlets. All you need to do is just go on the Amnesia Instagram. It is Amnesia B D S. So that is A-M-N-E-S-I-A-B-D-S. Head there, they have all the information on their page. I believe they have the ticket link on there as well. So if you're not in Barbados or you can't get a physical ticket, you can just go online, grab your ticket. Remember, I will be there, people. So make sure you grab that ticket. And the reason why I'm telling you about this now, in September, and not further on down the line, is because I want to give you time. Because this one is gonna sell out, and I'm worried that by the time it gets to our October episode, there may not be any tickets left. So, you know, I know you love me, I love me too. So, yeah, you're welcome, people. You're welcome. And I'm just gonna stop talking there, Archio, because my throat is getting a bit dry. I've been doing so much talk in this episode.
SPEAKER_02This is Soak Chronicles with Sharms. Literally, it's just because after brawling, I finally have something to talk about, you know. That's just I'm looking forward to that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, boy.
SPEAKER_02And with that, we want to start by thanking every listener for listening to us for five years. Thank you very much for the support. Let's listen to our dear friend Super Nitro one more time.

SPEAKER_02And rest me to say to you, have a very good remainder of the month, and we'll be back next month.

I will say hi, I am very friendly, and also don't forget, grab a ticket for brawling on the 7th of November so you can party with me in RKO.
